Our process
Four stages, and you always know what's next.
A new deck or porch is a serious decision — so the way it's run should be visible, not a mystery. Every DC Decking project follows the same four stages, with the permits and approvals handled for you.
01
Free Consultation
On-site, at no costYou & Dalton
It starts with a free, no-obligation consultation on your property. Tell Dalton about your backyard, how you want to use it, and any budget you have in mind — he looks at the grade, the access, the view and where the stairs want to go, so a rough idea becomes a project that actually suits the yard.
02
Custom Design & Estimate
Before any work beginsDalton
Dalton works up a custom design for your deck, porch or outdoor living space and comes back with a detailed, itemized estimate — no hidden extras. You settle the layout, the decking material, the railings and the finish before a single board is ordered.
03
Permits & Approvals
Handled for youDC Decking
This is the part most homeowners dread, and Dalton takes it off your plate. DC Decking pulls the required building permits and prepares any HOA approval your neighborhood needs. The structure is designed to the North Carolina residential building code before it ever reaches the inspector.
04
Construction & Inspection
One managed buildDalton, on the job
Dalton builds the project himself — footings, framing, decking, railings, roof and screens — with clean, on-schedule work and respect for your property. Permitted work is seen through the official inspections, so your finished deck or porch is documented, code-compliant and ready to enjoy.
After the job's done, you're not on your own. Dalton backs his own workmanship, and your composite decking carries long manufacturer warranties — if something isn't right, we make it right.
